The Starting Point

While developing the DineEase interface concept, I wanted supporting illustrations that felt aligned with its restaurant context and visual direction.

The available assets I explored did not quite match the style or composition I had in mind. Rather than forcing an unrelated illustration into the interface, I decided to create the graphics from scratch.

The Design Approach

I explored a small collection of vector illustrations and supporting symbols inspired by the dining and queueing experience.

The goal was to give the assets a consistent visual language through line work, proportions, and a restrained orange and neutral palette.

Because the illustrations were created as vector assets, I could refine their details and adapt their scale without losing their sharpness.

More importantly, making them myself gave me greater control over how they related to the rest of the DineEase interface.

The assets were not intended to exist as an unrelated collection of illustrations. They were developed as part of the broader visual exploration for DineEase.

By creating the supporting graphics alongside the interface, I could consider their style and composition in the same context as the app's screens.

This project reinforced my view that visual assets can do more than fill empty space. When they are designed with the product in mind, they can help create a more consistent visual experience.
