The Observation
The idea began with a familiar local product: siomay sold in a simple transparent container without a branded label.
I wondered whether a small sticker could introduce a more distinctive visual identity without requiring the seller to change the packaging format itself.
Rather than redesigning the container, I explored a more focused intervention: creating a label that could sit on top of the existing packaging.

Designing the Label
Designing the Label
I developed the sticker concept from scratch, including the written elements and illustration.
The visual direction was intended to give the product a warmer and more recognizable presentation while remaining suitable for a compact label format.
My previous experience working in SEO at a digital-printing company had also given me some exposure to printing materials and production considerations. Although I was not responsible for operating the printing equipment, that experience informed my awareness of the relationship between artwork and its eventual physical application.

When the Business Context
Changed the Design Decision
I shared the concept with the seller, but the design was not adopted.
A significant part of the seller's customer base consisted of resellers. Keeping the packaging unbranded was therefore more practical for their distribution model than applying a permanent identity to every container.
It was a useful reminder that a design can solve a visual problem while still being unsuitable for the way a business operates.

The concept helped me think about packaging beyond the label itself.
A more distinctive design may support brand recognition, but the value of that recognition depends on the product's sales model, customers, and distribution needs.
For this project, the more important lesson was not that the seller needed a branded package. It was that understanding the business context should come before deciding what to design.

Project Type: Self-Initiated Packaging Concept — Not Adopted by the Seller
